Capri Club Night Club Colombo, originally known as Circolo Amichevole Per Residenti Italiani, was established as a social circle for Italian residents in Colombo, supported by the Italian Ambassador and his successors. Initially comprising thirty members, the club expanded to include elite Sri Lankan families, including prominent figures like Mr. George Bobbiehese, Mr. Tita Nathanielsz, and Mr. Ralf Fernando.

Originally situated in a bungalow on Green Path (now Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha), CAPRI relocated in 1969 to 62 Turret Road (now Dharmapala Mawatha), to the Carlton Lodge owned by the benevolent Corea family of Chilaw. Post-World War II, CAPRI stood out among the few high-end establishments, offering fine dining and a sophisticated ambiance within the colonial setting of the Corea mansion. With a well-trained staff and an elite membership, it became a premier club for social and business gatherings in Colombo.
